INSPIRATION
“The glory of medicine is that it is constantly moving forward, that there is always more to learn. The ills of today do not cloud the horizon of tomorrow, but act as a spur to greater effort.”
INSPIRATION
“Unless we are making progress in our nursing every year, every month, every week, take my word for it we are going back.”
Constantly move forward and Make Progress
Our trailblazing pioneer leaders in healthcare focus on the importance of evolving. Florence Nightingale (a nurse, social reformer, and founder of modern nursing) said “unless we are making progress in our nursing every year, every month, every week, take my word for it we are going back.”
Our society must constantly move forward in creating a better future towards world peace, human security and dignity, health and well-being for all, and sustainability.
ills of today
Our ills of today such as hunger, poverty, social inequity, human rights violation, lack of diversity and inclusion, moral injury, discrimination, health disparities, infectious diseases, climate change, pollution, food loss, unsanitary conditions, disasters, violence are present, apparent, and leading to a dysfunctional society.
Depending on where you live in the world, there is no guarantee that the necessities of life (i.e., food, clothing, shelter, etc.) are even available. The ills of today have a direct impact on the health of our communities. We must re-imagine a society where the well-being of every human life matters.
lead and Collaborate for a greater effort
At the end of the day, only action produces results. We owe it to society, our world, and our planet to overcome challenges and take action, especially as leaders who have made safe, quality, and equitable healthcare for all a priority.
Leadership requires action. As we continue to learn from those who came before us and reflect on our own values, we must serve as change agents as we put the needs and well-being of others first.
