A Need for the healing of the nursing profession and The community

According to Gallup’s 2023 “Most Honest and Ethical Professions” survey, the American public rates nursing as the most trusted profession, and this #1 ranking has been consistent for 22 years. Survey respondents value the amount of time that nurses spend with patients and confirm the critical role of the profession in health care. However, the nursing profession has and continues to experience significant challenges.

Nursing is the largest profession in the U.S. and represents 4.4 million professionals. Lingering challenges such as staffing burnout, staffing issues, COVID-19 challenges, workplace violence, racism, and systemic discrimination are currently at the forefront of the profession.

Leaders are coming together across all aspects of society to drive change to overcome these challenges as our nations depend on nurses to lead the way, live up to its mission, avoid harm, and care for the public.

The health of our nation depends on a healthy nurse workforce.

There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.
